Hong Kong Pools

As one of the world’s most health-conscious cities, Hong Kong is packed with indoor and outdoor pools of every size. Whether you’re marathon-lapping an 18-meter pool first thing in the morning or lounging cabana-style with cocktails and ocean views, the special administrative region has a pool for you—and we’ve put together our list of the best.

There’s no better way to beat the heat in Hong Kong than by splashing around a pool, surrounded by breathtaking city views and delicious food. With the coronavirus restrictions on beaches and public pools lifted, Hong Kong’s pools are once again ready to beckon swimmers from across the city.

Swimming is a great workout for the body and soul, offering plenty of benefits. It burns calories, strengthens muscles and improves cardiovascular health, but it also relieves stress and boosts energy levels. Plus, it’s a fun and social activity that’s perfect for all ages.

In Hong Kong, there are more than 22 public pools run by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, all of which are worth visiting at least once. The entrance fee is HK$17 per person on weekdays and HK$19 on weekends, but you can buy day passes for a discounted rate. Kids under the age of 3 will receive free entry, too!

One of the more popular hongkong pools is located on the 76th floor of W Hong Kong, featuring a rooftop infinity pool with incredible views. The ambiance is perfect for relaxing after a swim, and the bar serves up delicious cocktails and other beverages.

For those who love to stay in luxury, the Ritz Carlton’s 118 floor indoor infinity pool is worth a visit. The room-sized pool has wall-to-ceiling windows looking out over Victoria Harbour and is backed by ceilings paneled with 144 LED screens projecting coral reefs, a city skyline and clear blue skies. This is a pool you’ll never forget.

Besides the stunning city and sea views, the hotel’s spacious and unique pool bar provides a cozy setting for a refreshing drink and bite to eat. The menu includes fresh coffee, stone-baked pizza and cold craft beer.

If you’re more interested in hitting the waves than a pool, head to Tsing Yi for an oceanfront beach and public swimming area with water slides. The beach is open all year round, and it’s an excellent place to escape from the busy streets of the city for a peaceful day by the water.
