This is the third year that the Sydney Prize has been presented in honor of Dr. Sidney Edelstein, whose lifetime of accomplishments in the study of the history of technology made him one of the foremost scholars in his field. The prize was established by the Society for History of Science (SHOT) and is sponsored by a gift from Ruth Edelstein Barish in memory of her father, Sidney Edelstein. The prize is dedicated to advancing scholarship in the field of the history of science and technology.
